YAY!!! I FINALLY feel like we are making some progress in this journey (even if it is only baby steps). Sammy & I met with our social worker today for the 1st time in our home study process. She was super nice and very helpful. We signed all of the requisite paperwork and are now officially under contract with Hillside Children’s Center to have our home study completed. 🙂 We have not yet entered into contract with the placement agency, but will do so in the coming months. Our next step is to gather all the paperwork needed and to get the background clearances. Once all that is in place, we go to Rochester for some training and then the social worker will come to our house for our home visit. Then we’ll work with our placement agency to complete our dossier (document packet that gets submitted to the Rwandan government to approve us as adoptive parents). It’s only the beginning, but we’ve struggled so much to get this far that I’m just so thankful to see SOME forward motion!!
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. We are clinging tightly to Jeremiah 29:11 right now: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord…plans for prosperity and not calamity, plans to give you a promise and a hope.“
