Change is Good

As I reflect upon the last 13 months, I am in awe of our faithful God.  Sam & I officially began our adoption adventure in March 2010.  We thought for sure we were going to be adding children to our family from the beautiful country of Rwanda…and maybe someday we will…but that was clearly not God’s plan for our family in THIS adoption process.

We researched all our options after Rwanda closed and kept coming back to Ghana.  We signed on with a wonderful agency and are now “matched” with a beautiful, healthy sibling pair (1 boy, 1 girl).  Our home study is ALMOST finalized (just waiting on my grandmother’s state police clearance…not sure why it’s taking SO long).  As soon as we have our home study in hand, we can submit it to the USCIS for approval to bring orphans into the country (I-171H).  That is the final document we need to send our dossier to Ghana for a court date!

Of course the US government isn’t known for processing ANYTHING quickly…but I continue to be fervent in prayer that God will move mountains to get our paperwork done quickly & that He will protect our precious children until we can hold them in our arms.

I am thankful that God has changed our direction.  A year ago I new little about Ghana…and now (hopefully) within this next year we’ll be bringing our son & daughter home from from there!!!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  ~Romans 8:28
