Quick update on our adoption journey:
It’s been a VERY long time coming…almost a full year in fact…but today we FINALLY received our notarized, APPROVED HOME STUDY!!! (For those who don’t speak adoptionese, the home study is the document that states that after intense scrutiny of every aspect of our lives from our home to our finances to our health to our parenting style, we are seen as competent parents in the eyes of the state to add more children to our family by means of adoption.)
At this point in time, the only document we’re waiting on is our I-171H (approval by homeland security to bring orphans into the country). They will receive our home study by the end of this week. Hopefully they will contact us quickly with our biometrics (fingerprinting) appointment so we can have that done. As soon as we have that approval, we will be able to submit our dossier to the Ghanian government for a court date!
Praying for God to move mountains to get our paperwork processed quickly.
